Mr. Joseph J Vayalat, Vayalat House, VTJ Enclave, Maradu hails from an aristocratic family traditionally in seafood business and engaged in plantations, founded by his father late Mr. V T Joseph. Right from school days he was engaged in seafood business as well as plantation activities. He is a post graduate in commerce. In addition to the family business he has started his own seafood exporting unit in the year 1998 in the name and style M/s Vayalat Exports, with EU and FDA approval for manufacture and export of marine products with head office at Cochin and branches at Alleppey district (Aroor, Ezhupunna & Pallipuram - Cherthala). The unit is having all modern facilities and equipments including IQF freezer, Trolley Freezers, Plate freezers, temperature controlled processing halls, Palatalized and mechanised cold storage, Automatic grading machines, cutting machines, peeling machines, de-panning machines, Metal detectors, heat sealing machine, consumer pouch packing devices, barcoding devices, well equipped micro biology lab, a fleet of commercial vehicles etc. and well equipped qualified and experienced professionals in all sectors along with wide network right from deep sea trawlers, trawler boats, catching centres to consignees / supermarkets abroad.
